Colored ceramic rings
I just made a comment on a different thread that I'm waiting for Jenn to figure out the chocolate gold thing because I've wanted that for 25 years and have never found it.

I'm wondering if anyone knows about alternatives for colored metals, outside of the yellow gold and rose gold we all know and love.

I've heard only briefly about ceramic rings, which are supposed to be as durable as other high-tech metals like tungsten. From what I understand, the color is evenly distributed throughout the metal, not just a plating, so there's no worry about it scratching or wearing off from body juices (like how my skin eats rhodium plating in a matter of days).

Does anyone have any experience they can share?

It's a bit of a challenge to find these things, and a real challenge to find one thinner than 4mm. They are mostly marketed to men, so are available in wide widths. Holler if you can find me a brown in 2mm width!

Here's a brown example:

And here's a pink for all you girly girls:

Sharp mind, soft belly.

RE: Colored ceramic rings
I don't know anything about ceramic rings, but I wanted to comment and say they are so pretty. Especially the pink one.

MrK has a tungsten ring and he loves it. It's a really dark gray. He was going to get one in black, but opted for gray instead.

One day, I'll be a crazy old lady weighed down by all my baubles and it will be glorious.

RE: Colored ceramic rings
Hadley, even though theirs aren't thin, you (and everybody else) should definitely check out http://www.charlotteshop.com . They're a German company which makes beautiful high-end interchangeable jewelry. I have a lot of their goodies and just love everything. My husband got me some more for Christmas--yay!

Their site is a bit temperamental, but if you look under "Charlotte" and in rings (if the tab works), you can find white, black and brown ceramic rings. If you call, Dorothea in the store is fantastic to work with. You can also look at the corporate website, http://www.charlotte.de, for some more fun.

RE: Colored ceramic rings
Why is the brown one a quarter of the price of the pink one, lol. I am very close to buying that, but pinned it instead. I need DHs payday to come first.

I think you should try it out Hadley! I wonder how it would wear beside gold though, or if it would damage the gold and exposed stones.
