Help on new setting idea!!
Well someone I know snatched up the 300.00 8MM OEC from Joyce a while back,
and lucky me they decided to go a different route!

So I got the slammin deal!! Nyanya

What I adore...its back when the culet was bigger!! yummmo for me.

Anyways......

I need your suggestions. I was thinking a really thin shank on this. But then I wonder if I should get the shank floral swirly engraved. Here is my fears of doing a bezel. I do NOT want SLEEK and CONTEMPORARY look. I hate modern for me. If I have a plain shank..will it seem modern to you? Should I do something to the shank to antique it up?

Oh....and this would most likely go with my "someday" 3mm oec bezel eternity ring. Angel

Sparkly eye candy found at thefacetlounge.com!

and here for your enjoyment are my pics of the unenhanced OEC

I think milgrain on the bezel would make it look vintage, not modern. You could also add milgrain to the edges of the shank and possibly hand engraving to the side but leave the top plain?

I love the big fat culet on that stone! It's amazing! Nothing else to add right now because I'm useless. Dood

RE: Help on new setting idea!!
thanks girls...any suggestion for thinness on the shank?

And @jenncent do you mean down each side of the shank?

I freakin am in love with Homeschooling 4's engraved band....I see how it has the milgrain down the sides.

I wouldn't go too thin, one good whack and the shank could break. I had one ring with a thinner shank that I hit just right causing it to break and pierce my finger (it was icky).

I think 1.8mm is as thin as I would go. 1.5mm or that range will warp.

Oh! This is going to be a beautiful project! I am so excited for you Kanga! I agree with Jenn I wouldn't go smaller than 1.8mm most likely 2mm to be on the safe side Smile
