*** BUT much smaller sizes than the last pic, 8mm center and 4.5mm sides. I love the shape of pears, but how the facets of OECs play off each other.....

RE: Putting out feelers
I haven't voted yet. But the pear sides, to me, flow into the shank, so it is like a center and a sparkly shank. But the OECs is like a 3 stone. So I don't know what I prefer, because I see them as 2 different styles.

RE: Putting out feelers
I agree, I like the flow of pears, sometimes round 3 stones can be a bit overwhelming, I just loooove how OECs look together. I have one hang up about the pears, some settings set them flat across so they look like ears/wings, I HATE that.......... :p

Yes, baguettes can look like that too. I don't like it either.

RE: Putting out feelers
I love the pears!! The bat wing thing can be overcome if they are properly integrated into the shank. Like this one.

RE: Putting out feelers
I voted pears. I love how they taper out, giving a feeling of grace and fluidity. I like trillions as sides, too, provided they are true trillions with curved edges, not triangles with the straight edges and sharp corners, which I find kind of severe.

And I'm totally with you on the flat-top settings. There must be a smooth arc overall, following the curve of the shank. When I helped with my friend's three stone last year, and when I did my cushion/ruby this year, I said repeatedly, "No plateaus, no diving platforms, no flat-top haircuts."

I voted pear.

One day, I'll be a crazy old lady weighed down by all my baubles and it will be glorious.

Pear here. My DH has a flat top haircut and I hate it. Although it is a Marine style flat top not that tall one in the pic Hadley posted!
