Round or Asscher in this Setting - Opinions Welcome
Hi Everyone:
This is my first post on here. I'm Tanukiko on another board. I could really use your opinions. I just bought this setting and it came with a 7.5 mm round CZ. Here is a photo and a video. I love how it sparkles with the round, but am also leaning toward replacing the center with an Asscher cut to tie in the step cuts on the sides and in my band (which has tiny asschers).

I don't have photoshop right now or I would superimpose this AG Asscher in there to see how it looks. I think the setting would fit a 6.5x6.5 asscher (so a slightly smaller diameter than the round, but same carat 1.5). If anyone has time and is willing to do a quick photoshop I would be so grateful! Your opinions are welcome.

Sparkly eye candy found at thefacetlounge.com!

I think it would look great with an asscher!

One day, I'll be a crazy old lady weighed down by all my baubles and it will be glorious.

Super pretty! I love that setting a lot. Asschers are cut deeper than RBs so I would make sure that won't be an issue. They can always build up prongs, but you can't make the setting deeper. Wink

Beth - you know I'm obsessed with your setting and this was the closest I could come without going custom. I debated putting a cushion in there as well.

Thanks everyone! I just wish I still had photoshop so I could visualize it better. I will try to ask the jeweler to ease out the round and lay an asscher in there to see how it looks. I definitely agree that it would compliment the step cut sides and my band perfectly, but not sure if it would lose some of its presence with a less blingy stone.
