Side Stone Size
As you may have read, I intend to purchase a stone from the lovely SparkleDancer that is 1.72ct in size. I've decided to use the stone in a 5-stone. I already have a 5-stone that is .40s straight across and it's beautiful but I feel it doesn't give the type of coverage I'm looking for. For reference, I wear Size 8 - 9.

I'd like to use the 1.72ct (7.85mm) and two of the .40 stones as sides but I cannot decide if I want the .40s as the little sides or the big sides. If I use them as the little sides, what would be a good size for the big sides? .65 - .75? And if I use them as the big sides, what would be a good size for the small sides? .15-.25?

I am having trouble working it out in my mind. Are there any online tools to help me see this?

So excited for you!! Do you have any pictures of the setting in mind so I can get a better idea of what you're doing?

I think the .40s as the littles. What mm are they? 4.5ish? I would get something 6mmish for the next two.

I haven't gotten that far yet. I want something like Yssie's ring in theory - that graduated ski slope look but I do not want a trellis at all. Maybe u-prong? Any suggestions?

They're in the area of 4.70-4.75mm. I would choose the two closest to a match. Then use two more for earrings and one for a bezel pendant.

Then I want to take the original platinum 5-stone setting and set it with moissy.

Positively. I need to have some type of direction first though. Don't want to drive an artist crazy.

Then if it were me, and the world was perfect and I could exactly what next I wanted, I would have 6.2mm for the next size.

RE: Side Stone Size
So 1.72, then the .90s, then the .40s?

I am going to see if I can draw little circles and cut them out.

RE: Side Stone Size
That is what I would do... but I like bigger bling.
