Some of my pearls
Hi everyone!

A few of the ladies suggested that I start a thread and so here I am.

I'll start with my one and only pearl ring for now that I've nicknamed the "love birds".

wSSP and ySSP baroque pearl with gold beaks and feet, and diamond dusted little wings. The ring itself is made of 'black gold' (?), with leaves, buds and etched to resemble a branch. It's especially special cos it's an unexpected gift from hubby when I was hesitant about spending so much on pearls at the store.

Such a beautiful color on those pearls. The chick ring is ADORABLE! I love all the fine detail on that with the brushed metal and little leaf/branch!!

My tahitian dropped shaped pastel strand and stud earrings, also from the same store in Hong Kong are up next.

You would have seen quite a bit of the pastel strand in the background above. These pearls are rather temperamental and only 'pop' under certain lights. But very smooth and blemish free, which I love.

Thanks JJB. Smile

I must have said "so cute!" like 10x when I first saw the ring. Yeah I squealed in the shop. Easy customer or what. Blush

RE: Some of my pearls
I only have one other tahitian earring (for now, ha!), and these are special cos I went thru the ENTIRE Greenhills Pearl Market in Manila before deciding to get them. That's a few hundred stalls. (Dedicated shopper or what?) Angel

They are 12mm x 15mm and 12.5mm x 15mm.

RE: Some of my pearls
So my fav pearl type is really tahitians (if you haven't already guessed), but I don't have that many cos they are really quite expensive... this strand is really one of my fav in the collection. Love the range of colours displayed in one strand. It's my colour graduated baroque rope from Hinata/Andy Muller. It goes with nearly all colours (for tops), and always surprises me with some unique colour or overtone whenever wear it.

Oh ya, both this and the pastel strand measure 37 inches or so (I think, can't recall exact length), and can be worn doubled or long.

RE: Some of my pearls
I am aiming for a giant baroque tahitian pendant (hopefully sooner rather than later). But in the meantime this sweet little pistachio (?) with pink centre keeps me company. It was a surprise gift! Am I a lucky gal or what? Blush
