Whirlwind - Has anyone seen this setting somewhere?
I lost my original engagement ring about a year ago. I have been restless trying to get something beautiful but different so it would not remind of the loss & would be more my style. I got a stunning solitaire antique filigree on DB that I love but I missed the sparkles. Recently, I got a new set with a halo pear like I've always wanted.. Yet I am still longing for something, I think I want my original re-made. Unfortunately, the Etsy shop I got it has been closed for a while. I am not sure if they are re-openning the shop anytime soon.

I was wondering if anybody has seen this made by someone else?

I always thought this style is not me. I didn't like the heavy 4-prongs and the hight setting. The ring itself is not vintage or Art Deco, yet I miss it all the time. I compare everything to how spectacular the whirlwind looked on me.

Any thoughts?

I have not seen one like that. But if you are longing for it, maybe it was more "you" than you thought. I know it could be remade though. Smile

Oh yea and you could remake it with claw prongs (my fav) and setting lower if you wanted to change anything! The ring is spectacular!

Before I was set on the pear halo, I tried re-designing this whirlwind with claws or a bezel or something twirly instead. It didn't look right with anything else. Now I am back to it again, how bizzare Smile

If you want the twisty look back but didn't care for the heaviness of that one, what about a twisty that is lighter in scale? Something like one of these...

Such gorgeous styles, thank you so much!
I actually loved the heaviness of the sides. I liked it from every side except for straight on when I could see the 4 metal globs surrounding the centre. May be if it was 6 prongs it would look more of a flower or something. I would love to have all my rings with stones beautifully floating together with no metal in between Smile
