exciting conversation
I had a lovely phone conversation today with Randy McCullough CEO at Charles and Colvard. He is a very nice man, I really enjoyed talking with him.

Three exciting things came out of my conversation with him.

1) I told him about the dark spot in the OEC's and he said he is going to look into modifying the cut to see if that can be eliminated.

2) They are working on a new rough that is more white, meaning no green, grey, or teal. He thinks this may improve the dark spot in the OEC as well.

3) They at one time had an Old Mine cut, and I asked him if he would consider reviving it, and he said yes, very possibly.

He said recutting is a patent violation and yes would void the warranty. I explained that the statement on Facebook about recutting is misleading if is illegal to do so. He agreed. So I did not pursue it. I'm hoping for the FB stones in an Old mine cut, and I will be happy with that. I said that if the antique cushions or old mine stones were available, most popular antique cuts would be available, people wouldn't feel a need to recut stones.

RE: exciting conversation
I think if enough people are interested there would be no reason not to do it if they already have the cut available in theory (OMC).

Ooooh that is exciting about a whiter rough! I think I might wait until June to retry moissanite. I am excited.

Great sleuthing Poppy!

Very cool! Thanks for sharing the info with us.

One day, I'll be a crazy old lady weighed down by all my baubles and it will be glorious.
